Choosing Your Paper

Just a few ideas for different papers.  Construction paper is easy and simple, and worked very well for our zoo animals.  For our dinosaurs, though, we wanted something a little different.

Letting the kids look through the scrapbook paper section of our local hobby store for "dinosaur skin" papers was a lot of fun.  They came up with some interesting choices.

Halfway through our project, we ran out of scrapbook paper, so we decided to make our own.  My favorite dinosaurs are the ones we made from scratch.  We used tempera paints on construction paper, as well as pastels, to create our own "skin" patterns.

All of these options work - it's just a matter of what look you like and how much work you want to put in.
